The Carolina Panthers and quarterback Cam Newton were trolled by the Philadelphia Daily News after the Philadelphia Eagles blew out the Panthers, 45-21 in Monday night NFL action.

Hopefully Cam Newton is of the belief that print media is dead, and doesn’t read newspapers. Unfortunately for Cam, whatever appears in print appears on the internet which means there is no escaping the trolling being done but he Philadelphia press following the Eagles blowout win over the Panthers on Monday Night.

Newton was visibly hobbled all night long and turned in one of his weakest performances of the season. Despite the fact that he clearly wasn’t 100 percent and doing more harm than good, the Panthers still kept him in the game at the wrong times. As a result, Cam Newton is making for an easy target on Tuesday morning when it comes to skewering his awful night against the Eagles.

Look no further than the Philadelphia Daily News for proof of that:

I’m never one to mock David Bowie or a quote from one of his finest songs, but apparently Newton was playing on some flat tires in the loss, leading him to look sluggish, although he still played, even in the fourth quarter with the game well out of reach.

Newton went 25 for 40 on completions with 306 yards in the loss, but only rushed for six yards. He had two fourth-quarter touchdowns to Kelvin Benjamin, but threw three interceptions and fumbled twice (losing one).

Also concerning is the usually-mobile Newton was sacked nine times by the Eagles defense last night, which helped Philly get good field position and romp to their eventual 45-21 victory at home against the Panthers.
