The New Orleans Saints fan that wrestled the football away from the Cincinnati Bengals’ female fan in Week 11 NFL action has made a statement explaining why he did it.

Quite simply, the New Orleans Saints’ fan base are one of the most loud and passionate fan bases in the NFL, but they were caught on camera going a bit too far this past Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Bengals’ tight end Jermaine Gresham went to hand a football to a female Bengals’ fan in the stands, and a male Saints’ fan ripped the ball away from her in a very aggressive manner. The football did end up in the right hands as photos showed later in the game, but it was still a very widespread video that went viral about the rudeness of the Saints’ fan.

Take a look at the first video of him ripping the football away from the poor woman:

Now let’s take a look at what the Saints fan had to say about his actions and why he did what he did.

Needless to say, his reasoning still doesn’t excuse the actions that he took during the game at all. It’s understandable that he was trying to get a souvenir for his grandson, but the manner in which he took the football forcefully away from the fan was way too much. Gresham was obviously giving the football to the Bengals’ fan, and for that type of disrespect to be shown by the Saints fan was not a good representation.
