TCU Quarterback Trevone Boykin remained classy despite a tough night and stopped to shake hands with a fan of the Oklahoma State Cowboys

The eighth ranked TCU Horned Frogs may have lost their chance at landing in the four-team College Football Playoff after losing 49-29 to No. 14 Oklahoma State. Their quarterback Trevone Boykin didn’t lose his class, however, as he stopped on the way to the locker room to shake hands with some Oklahoma State fans asking him for a moment of his time.

It’s the small things like this that make a difference in fans’ lives – when an athlete makes them feel important. Boykin could have simply walked off and no one would have thought twice after a tough game.

Oklahoma State took the lead early and never surrendered it to TCU. While playing from behind, Boykin moved the ball well, but made some costly mistakes. He threw for 445 yards while adding 73 more on the ground, but two red zone stalls and four interceptions doomed the Horned Frogs’ comeback attempts.

Receiver Josh Doctson left the game with a wrist injury in the second quarter which also hampered the team’s ability to get the ball in the end zone as they saw a 16-game winning streak snapped.

Head coach Gary Patterson admitted the loss of Doctson hurt, but gave plenty of respect to Oklahoma State saying they just outplayed his team.

"“You go in with a game plan, and the game plan is to throw to No. 9, and then No. 9’s not there anymore,” Patterson said. “Your whole set of rules change for this offense, because they set plays up for people.”"

The Frogs overall gained 663 yards on offense, but lost the turnover battle, four to nothing, against the Cowboys – a statistic that proved costly.
