One of your top plays from Saturday’s Major League Baseball action may not have come from the diamond, but from the stands and a Philadelphia Phillies beer vendor.

More from MLB

Nice catches in the stands have been seen before, but rarely by a concessions vendor, and rarely using something other than a baseball glove.

During the bottom of the sixth inning of the Phillies 5-3 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers, Philadelphia catcher Carlos Ruiz hit a foul ball to right field. As the ball sailed into the stands, an unsuspecting beer vendor was carrying his wares in a bucket on top of his head.

Just look at the video below to see what happened next.

In the words of the immortal Mel Allen…”How about that!”

Even the Citizen’s Bank Park organist recognized the greatest of the grab, giving him a hearty “TAA DAAA” on the pipes, as the crowd gave their purveyor of liquid refreshment a rousing ovation.

Now lets see, the Phillies are fourth place in the NL East, sitting with a record of 21-25. Perhaps a call to this beer vendor’s agent would be in order for Philadelphia GM Rubén Amaro, Jr. It probably couldn’t hurt.

Reportedly no beers were injured in the incident.
