Dwyane Wade fakes out Tim Duncan, finishes lay-up (GIF)

For stretches of the 2013-2014 regular season, you almost could have forgotten that Dwyane Wade even played for the Miami Heat.

Any mention of the “big three” anymore is rare. Long gone are the days in which people actually debated whether this was LeBron’s team or Dwyane’s team.
Pause and think about that before we move on. That was like, an actual debate. Is this LeBron’s team or Dwyane’s team? And really, that was in the days before we had all embraced debate on the level that we have now. Silly, is the word I would use to describe the fact that we ever asked that question.
Anyhow, Wade took so many days off this season, by design, that he did not necessarily play an integral part in Miami’s regular season success. The hope with that plan was that Wade would be fresh and able to contribute on a superstar level in the playoffs.
For the most part that plan has worked out pretty nicely. And in the first game of the NBA Finals, Wade looked like his vintage self with this sweet little move in the lane to shake Tim Duncan and finish the lay-up.
If the Heat get star production from Wade in this series, that will a long way towards another ring and another series win over the Spurs.
