Last preseason, linebacker Brian Banks got the opportunity to live out his dream of playing professional football in the NFL by suiting up for the Atlanta Falcons.

More from NFL

Banks was ultimately released and did not make the final 53-man roster, but after all that he has gone through in his life it was great to see him out on the field.

In high school, Banks was a highly-touted player and many expected him to blossom into a star at the collegiate level.

Unfortunately, Banks never got that chance.

Banks was falsely accused of rape and spent five years behind bars. He spent another five years on probation, which means his physical prime was past him and it was a longshot that he would ever get to step on the NFL field.

That all changed thanks to the hard work from Banks, and now he will continue being a part of the NFL.

While his playing days are over, Banks announced on Saturday that he has accepted a job with the NFL front office.

Banks will serve as a manager in the football operations department. He is also expected to assist officials on game days.

It is great to see Banks get this opportunity to continue working with the NFL and it is something that he certainly deserves.
