According to reports from the Buffalo News, Buffalo Sabres owner Terry Pegula has reached a tentative agreement to buy the NFL’s Buffalo Bills for around $1 billion.

"Terry and Kim Pegula have struck a tentative deal to purchase the Buffalo Bills, and an official announcement should be made today, The Buffalo News has learned. Two sources involved in the sales process informed The News the Pegulas have outdistanced every other suitor.“Done deal,” one source said this morning in a text to The News."

It will be viewed as a big win for the Buffalo area, who were worried with numerous potential buyers desire to relocate the franchise. As owners of a local franchise already, Western New York can feel comfortable about the Bills staying in the area.

The Buffalo News also reported that the deal is “believed to be in the neighborhood of $1 billion.” The deal isn’t done yet either, the NFL owners must approve the sale with the next scheduled meeting slated for October 7th and 8th in Manhattan at league offices.
