Curry’s Starting to Play Defense

One of the biggest reasons why Stephen Curry should get MVP consideration is because he’s starting to play more defense. Curry has always been in the lead leader ranks in steals, but this season he’s taking on the challenge of guarding the opponents point guard and is attempting to slow them down offensively.

Curry held Jeremy Lin scoreless, which isn’t saying much considering how bad the Lakers are, but it does show that Curry is stepping up on the defensive side of the basketball. Where he once was a liability on defense, he now enjoys guarding the opponents point guard.

Last year when big name point guards rolled into town such as Damian Lillard and Chris Paul, Curry’s teammate Klay Thompson would guard them. However this season Head Coach Steve Kerr has challenged Curry to get better and has made Curry lead the charge defensively. The better he can guard his opponents and take them out of their game the more people will notice he’s really increased his overall game.
