What if Migos buy the Atlanta Hawks?

The saga of the sale of the Atlanta Hawks is far from over, but today we have some new information, as Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that 100 percent of the team is up for sale.

Surely there will be plenty of suitors for control of the Hawks, as they’re a young team on the come-up. But there’s one group who stands out among the rest as a perfect fit to take over the Atlanta Hawks. Just like the Hawks, they’re a young group on the rise, and they’re local, hailing from the ATL themselves: Migos.

That’s right, Offset, Quavo, and Takeoff should be the number one choice to take control. So let’s imagine what it would look like if Migos buy the Atlanta Hawks.

First of all, the number one question that has to be answered. Do they have the money?

In their song “Chirpin‘”, Quavo says,

"“Im servin them patients, my money is ancientMy diamonds are lookin like I bought a ice glacier”"

So I think that question answers itself.

Now, what changes would come into effect with Migos in control?

Number one, Zaytoven would be brought in as general manager. Zaytoven produces many of Migos’ tracks, including their hit song “Versace”, so we know that he has their trust. As a producer, Zaytoven has to make many key decisions regarding each track, such as what beat to use, which sounds to emphasize and when. And as he’s shown time and again, he has the ability to make his creations exceedingly successful. There’s no doubt he could do the same thing with a basketball roster.

Next, they would need to makes some adjustments to the coaching staff. Coach Bud will stay on as head coach, as he’s done an incredible job thus far, and seems to have the trust and respect of the players. But as for the assistants, Killer Mike and El-P, a.k.a, Run the Jewels, would be brought in immediately. The duo have great chemistry and amazing charisma such that when they speak, you listen. And you listen intently, because their messages are so powerful. There’s no telling the affect they could have coaching young players.

In addition, Trinidad James, another Atlanta resident, would become the new equipment manager. He would be vital in the transition of the Hawks from red, white, and blue, their new colors: gold and black. Secondly, his vast knowledge of Versace would be invaluable as the Hawks set a new trend in on-court apparel with Versace jerseys replacing today’s mesh material.

Besides the jerseys, what other changes would take place on the court? Well the most obvious answer to this question, is that 2 Chainz would be signed immediately. He could come off the bench and perform at halftime of every home game. It would be a true win-win situation for the Hawks and their fans.

Finally, the court itself would have to be changed, even though the Hawks court is currently one of the best around. Here, I have sketched an outline of what the new court might look like. As you may notice, the arena the team plays in has also been changed. Instead of Philips Arena, the Hawks will now play at the Bando Center, a.k.a., “The Bando.”

The Hawks have been quite impressive so far this season, but with Migos in charge, there’s no telling the heights they could one day reach. Not 1, not 2, not 3, not 4….
