8. Super Bowl XVIII – Raiders 38, Redskins 9

The Washington Redskins were favored to win Super Bowl XVIII against the Los Angeles Raiders, but that didn’t end up happening. Los Angeles came out strong and ended up embarrassing the Redskins off of the field.

Joe Theismann, John Riggins, and the 1983 Redskins’ offense was one of the most powerful offenses of the time, but they were held completely in check by the Raiders’ defense. Marcus Allen completely destroyed Washington throughout the entire game. It wasn’t even a contest, and was one of the biggest upset blowouts in NFL history.

Washington was denied the chance to defend their title. Los Angeles used defense and special teams to come up with two of their touchdowns, with a punt block recovery and an interception returned for touchdowns.
