The Denver Nuggets have fired Brian Shaw as head coach, and it looks like there are a handful of names that could be in the conversation to take over.
Brian Shaw is going to have to fight for another job in the NBA, as his short stint with the Denver Nuggets ended today with his firing following losing the locker room this season. He can thank the ‘six weeks’ chant for his firing, among other things, but the Nuggets are done thinking about Shaw and are on to finding his replacement.

There has already been speculation as to who could get hired to replace Shaw but nothing seems to be firmly in place nor does it look that way any time soon.
According to Marc Stein from ESPN, the Denver Nuggets could look at names like Mike D’Antoni and Avery Johnson to replace Brian Shaw.

However, according to Adrian Wojnarowski from Yahoo! Sports, the Nuggets won’t be hiring Shaw’s long term replacement during the season as they haven’t begun to look at anything other than short term options.
Denver hasn't started to consider long-term candidates for coaching job. Organization needs to decide direction and then look at best fits.

This doesn’t mean we won’t see a hiring in the near future though, as the Sacramento Kings said they weren’t going to rush into a long term hire only to later hire George Karl to a fat deal. That was after a period of soul searching though, and with just six weeks left in the season, the Nuggets won’t be rushing into hiring anyone no matter their name.
