FOX thinks Albert Pujols still plays for Cardinals
FOX had a slight mishap regarding which team Albert Pujols plays for during their broadcast of the MLB All-Star Game.
Albert Pujols was the starting first baseman for the American League in the 2015 MLB All-Star Game, making his first All-Star appearance in five years. The 35-year-old has had a power resurgence at the plate this season, hitting 26 homers through the first 85 games of the season for the Los Angeles Angels.
Someone should probably tell FOX, the network broadcasting the All-Star Game, that Pujols does in fact still play for the Angels and hasn’t played for the St. Louis Cardinals since 2011:
While the error on the part of FOX is certainly egregious considering that Pujols’ move to California happened four years ago and that the Cardinals aren’t even in the American League, it still may not be as bad as the All-Star hats. Whoever approved that design needs to do some soul-searching and reevaluate their decision making process.
As for Pujols, he’s still a member of the Angels no matter how badly FOX seemingly wants to make him the first baseman for the Cards. If he continues showing the same kind of power for the second half of the season, that’s going to be favorable for the Halos and have the Cards merely wishing that FOX was correct.
