11. Green Bay Packers

It is almost unfair that the Packers have a really good defense. When you have Aaron Rodgers, shouldn’t you have to level the playing field by having a mediocre defense that can’t stop the pass? Instead, Green Bay looks equipped to make another run at the Super Bowl in 2015.

Green Bay is getting nose tackle B.J. Raji back after missing him for all of 2014 with a torn biceps. Raji is the anchor in Dom Capers’ defense, a man who clogs up the middle by commanding a double-team. However, the main engine of this defense can be found in Clay Matthews, who actually split time between inside and outside linebacker last year. Still, Matthews was able to rack up 11 sacks. On the other side, Julius Peppers contributed with another seven sacks.

The Packers have a dynamic young secondary with Ha-Ha Clinton Dix and Morgan Burnett patrolling the deep third of the field. The corners are not overwhelming with Casey Heyward and Sam Shields, but neither are a complete liability. Provided that Green Bay builds leads like it normally does, both will be tested often with teams desperately throwing to come back.
