Let’s get this out of the way immediately. ESPN is the known as the Worldwide Leader because it does a ton of great work. However, ESPN also gets blasted on a daily basis because it will do seemingly anything for attention. Remember Tim Tebow running in the rain, or when Ron Jaworski said that Colin Kaepernick could be one of the greatest quarterbacks of all-time?
Yeah, well this tweet isn’t on that level, but it’s dangerously close.
Umm… what? ESPN tweeted this out in response to Pro Football Focus ranking Ryan Tannehill as the 10th-best quarterback in the league going into 2015. Somehow, incredibly, Luck was not put into the top 10.
Tannehill is developing nicely for the Miami Dolphins, but he struggles to throw the deep ball and was almost benched before a Week 4 game last year against the Oakland Raiders. Over the past two seasons, despite a talented supporting cast, Miami is without a playoff appearance and a combined 16-16.
In the meantime, Luck has made the playoffs in each of his three seasons with the Colts, winning two division titles. Furthermore, Luck has thrown for 12,957 yards and 86 touchdowns. In comparison, Tannehill has amassed 11,252 passing yards and 63 touchdowns. Here are some of the responses to ESPN’s tweet:
@ESPN_NFLNation Is this like a morning zoo show or something?

@ESPN_NFLNation What is wrong with you ESPN? Why would you ask such a stupid thing? The answer is no. Crawl back in your cave, trolls.

That last tweet seems to sum it up nicely. While PFF was the company putting this ridiculous nonsense out to the public, ESPN is just as guilty for tweeting out the link.
