Physics can’t explain how Giannis Antetokounmpo dunked this ball

There are times when Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo doesn’t look real. That’s a compliment more than anything, but he’s just so incredibly long and athletic that it doesn’t seem like he should be able to do some of the things he does. Tuesday night was one of those times.

Facing off against the Chicago Bulls in the Bucks’ first game of the preseason, Antetokounmpo carved his way into the left side of the line and rose up, but seemingly was headed out of bounds on the baseline. The only possible outcome appeared to be a soft, close-range floater. Instead, Giannis somehow dunked it because who needs physics:

I’ve watched this video on loop for several minutes and I’m still not sure how he dunked from that angle. Stretch Armstrong (that famed NBA star) couldn’t have dunked from where Antetokounmpo just did. Yet it happened.

Giannis is far from a finished product in the NBA. The young forward still needs improvement on his ball-security and in terms of developing a more reliable jumper. However, when he does things like throw down this type of dunk, you see why Milwaukee looks at him and sees nearly limitless potential.

Now back to trying to figure out how in the hell he actually did that.
