The Indianapolis Colts were almost able to pull off one of the more amazing comebacks in recent National Football League history on Monday Night Football, but fell in overtime to the Carolina Panthers, 29-26. Indianapolis was trailing 23-6 in the fourth quarter but rallied to force overtime, where an Andrew Luck interception led to a Graham Gano 52-yard field goal for the win.

Carolina is now 7-0, and remains undefeated longer than any other NFC team. The Panthers looked like they were going to blow a large lead, but they were able to hold on and show the heart of a champion.

Highlights

Three Stars

1. Jonathan Stewart

Stewart was really good throughout the evening, save one fumble. Stewart was able to run for 82 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries, many times busting through multiple tackles to churn out the yardage. Stewart has battled injuries in recent years, but he is a heck of a running back.

2. Andre Johnson

Johnson has been very underwhelming throughout the season, but he came to play against Carolina under the lights. Johnson caught four passes for 81 yards and a touchdown, helping Indianapolis to climb back into the game. If Johnson can finally get going, it would be a huge lift for the Colts.

3. Luke Kuechly

Kuechly might be the most underrated player in the NFL. Kuechly was all over the field as he is every week, making 14 tackles to lead the team. Kuechly also made the play of the game, intercepting Andrew Luck in overtime to set up the game-winning field goal.

Odds

Carolina was favored by 5.5 points and did not cover the spread thanks to a late Indianapolis surge.

Next Week

The Panthers will host the Green Bay Packers on Sunday while the Colts will welcome in Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos.
