Things have gotten so bad in Denver that the Broncos are looking to Brock Osweiler for answers

Peyton Manning hasn’t looked particularly great for the Denver Broncos for almost the entirety of the 2015 NFL season. However, Denver’s Week 10 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs may have been the lowest of lows for one of the all-time great quarterbacks. Midway through the third quarter, Peyton had just 35 yards passing with only five completions on 20 attempts—all to go with his four interceptions. The Broncos were left searching for any kind of answers, which apparently led them to Brock Osweiler.

Osweiler came in off the bench on the Broncos next drive after the Chiefs picked off Manning for the fourth time. Osweiler was selected in the second round of the 2012 NFL Draft by the Broncos out of Arizona State and has seen the field incredible sparingly since coming into the league. Coming into this game where he replaced Peyton Manning, Osweiler had only thrown 30 passes for his entire career, completing 17 of those attempts with one going for a touchdown last season.

While there’s no defense for how bad Manning was against Kansas City, it may just not have been the Broncos’ day. Osweiler’s first drive wound up as a three-and-out as the young quarterback was almost intercepted himself on third down. Manning isn’t getting the job done for Denver right now, but I’m not sure we’ve seen anything to indicate that Osweiler is the solution to those Peyton-related problems.
