Northrop Grumman Military Bowl Odds & Prediction

Northrop Grumman Military Bowl odds and prediction!
The bowls are nearly half over, and though I haven’t watched all of them between holiday festivities and work, I don’t think I am off to that great of a start. My bowl mania picks were doing okay until Nebraska beat UCLA. I still have the against the spread picks to go, and from the looks of it, it will be a struggle to stay at .500 in bowl season.

In case you missed how the point scale works, here is a brief rundown:
5. A lock. I am comfortable making a sizable wager on this game.
4. Very confident. Not quite a lock, but I am comfortable making a decent sized wager on it.
3. Middle of the road. Good enough that I would make a small wager on it.
2. Could go either way. So much so that I wouldn’t bet on it.
1. Stay away from these.

Now on to the Northrop Grumman Military Bowl!
Pittsburgh vs. Navy(-3.5) at Annapolis, MD(4):
Pittsburgh(8-4, 6-2):
Wins: vs. Youngstown State(45-37), at Akron(24-7), at Virginia Tech(17-13), vs. Virginia(26-19), at Georgia Tech(31-28), at Syracuse(23-20), at Duke(31-13), vs. Louisville(45-34)
Losses: at Iowa(24-27), vs. North Carolina(19-26), vs. Notre Dame(30-42), vs. Miami(FL)(24-29)
Record vs. bowl teams: 4-4
Navy(10-2, 7-1):
Wins: vs. Colgate(48-10), vs. East Carolina(45-21), at Connecticut(28-18), vs. Air Force(33-11), vs. Tulane(31-14), vs. South Florida(29-17), at Memphis(45-20), vs. SMU(55-14), at Tulsa(44-21), vs. Army(21-17)
Losses: at Notre Dame(24-41), at Houston(31-52)
Record vs. bowl teams: 5-2
Pitt lost starting running back James Conner in the opener, and struggled to put away Bo Pelini’s (remember him?) Youngstown State team in the opener. Qadree Ollison became a solid back for Pitt, and with the dangerous Tyler Boyd on the outside, the Panthers have some playmakers on offense. They are solid on the other side of the ball as well.
The Keenan Reynolds saga will wrap up at Navy today. He is likely the second best quarterback every to play for the Middies, and he would love to go out in style. Reynolds has a chance to become the career touchdown leader in FBS with three touchdowns in this game. They say that they don’t follow individual goals, but even if Reynolds is not aware, you can bet that his teammates know. They are going to do everything they can to get him the record.
Pitt played well against dual threat QB Marquise Williams and North Carolina, but they struggled against Georgia Tech’s option attack. Navy is close to Georgia Tech’s style, and Navy is going for its first ever 11 win season. There is so much history at stake for Keenan Reynolds and Navy that I really doubt they falter.
My pick: Navy
