High Salary D

Brent Burns-San Jose Sharks ($8,300): Burns registered yet another point on Tuesday night, giving him an eight-game point streak and a whopping 17 points over the last 11 games. He is averaging 5.6 fantasy points a game, the highest among any player in the league amongst either forwards or defensemen. Burns is a fantasy beast and has a great matchup tonight with Edmonton. It can be difficult to fit a high-priced defenseman such as Burns into your lineup but there are ways to do it tonight.

Justin Faulk-Carolina Hurricanes ($6,500): Faulk was on fire a few weeks back but has cooled down tremendously. He had a six-game point drought before picking up an assist on January 9. He added another assist in his last game on Tuesday and is now riding a two-game point streak. Faulk doesn’t have a bad price considering that he’s still averaging 3.8 fantasy points a game. Tonight’s game against the Blues could prove difficult, but he’s still a good play.

High Value D

Matt Niskanen-Washington Capitals ($4,600): Niskanen is still benefiting from John Carlson being out of the lineup due to injury. He’s really stepped up his game recently with five points over the last seven games, including a stretch of four games in-a-row with a point. Vancouver has been tough against defensemen this season but Niskanen is still a good one to target.

Ryan McDonagh-New York Rangers ($4,800): McDonagh is working on a two-game point streak with three assists over that stretch. He’s been cold since mid-December but might be starting to heat up. McDonagh is up to 20 points on the season and can be an excellent sleeper pick on certain nights. His ownership should be low, so get him into tonight’s lineup.
