Quarterback Brock Osweiler says he wants to stay with the Denver Broncos.

Osweiler was drafted in the second round of the 2012 NFL Draft with an eye on being the heir apparent to Peyton Manning. Now, with Manning likely to retire after winning a Super Bowl, Osweiler is hitting free agency.

However, Osweiler has made his intentions known that he would like to stay in the Mile High City. Talking on the Around The NFL podcast earlier in the week, Osweiler declared that Denver would be his preferred choice, per NFL.com.

"“Every single guy on this team embraced me, and that is something I think they all know how thankful I am for that, but this is the best team in the world and we have a very special group in our locker room,” Osweiler said, per The Denver Post."

It makes all the sense in the world for both the Broncos and Osweiler. Denver needs a quarterback and there is nobody available who makes any real sense. Meanwhile, Osweiler would have two excellent receivers at his disposal and a stellar defense. It’s the perfect situation for a young quarterback trying to learn the ropes.

After sitting on the bench for three years, Osweiler started seven games for Denver with middling success. Osweiler was eventually benched in Week 17 for Manning and did not see any snaps in the postseason.
