Atlanta Hawks forward Mike Scott made an insane trick shot against the Chicago Bulls that didn’t count.

Why is it that the best trick shots never count? Perhaps it’s because players wouldn’t dare try them during play and risk being the joke of the league for trying something insane or maybe they just have the unfortunate bad luck of timing going against them.

Against the Chicago Bulls on Friday night, Atlanta Hawks forward Mike Scott made a nice trick shot on the court after the whistle. As his teammate Thabo Sefolosha passed him the ball, Scott slammed the basketball down after the sound of the whistle and it just happened to bounce up and go in.

Even more impressively, Scott doesn’t attempt his trick shot facing the basket. He just sort of stands there while making some half-effort attempt at bouncing the ball on the floor. These are the types of shots that the average person gets in the gym trying to make with their buddy recording it on video a thousand takes over.

It might not have counted in play, but it sure was a cool shot and Scott earned himself a little cred on the court for that one.
