Los Angeles Rams: 5 worst draft picks all-time
5. Sam Bradford
Sam Bradford is by no means a terrible quarterback, but he committed highway robbery with the amount of money he made for the Rams and the time that he spent on the field. It’s certainly not his fault that he got injured and missed a ton of time at the quarterback spot, but it’s a reminder of just how dangerous the old rookie pay scale was to the future of teams.
As a rookie Bradford was just the third quarterback in NFL history to start all 16 games and pass for 3,000 yards. The Rams thought they finally found the quarterback of the future and everyone was excited about what he might do for the team going forward.
That’s when injuries sent everything downhill and Bradford just couldn’t get out on the field and become the consistent quarterback that the team needed him to be. After the 2014 season, the Rams decided to trade Bradford to the Philadelphia Eagles for Nick Foles.
Bradford was better in his time on the field with the Eagles than Foles was with the Rams, but that’s not saying much. Still, Bradford has gotten paid a ton of his money in career like a superstar and he’s failed to produce like one.
