12. player. 118.
While Dante Exum seems poised to return to the Jazz next season, Utah lacks talented depth at the point guard position and may even see Exum as an off-guard long-term. Vanderbilt’s Wade Baldwin would be a high upside play at twelve who could eventually develop into a starting quality lead guard capable of knocking down threes and distributing well on offense while pestering opposing perimeter players on the other end of the floor.

Baldwin knocked down 40.8 percent of his triples as a sophomore more, the best mark among college point guards in the draft. He has a decent shooting stroke, but will likely need to refine his release some to maintain those numbers in the NBA. The 20-year old was also an impressive facilitator at Vanderbilt, dishing out 6.5 assists per 40 minutes with an assist rate of 32.4 percent during his two seasons with the school.

Baldwin is still a developing defender, but the physical tools are there for him to be a disrupting presence along the perimeter. He measured in at 6-4 with a nearly 7-0 wingspan at the combine and while right now his defensive brilliance is mostly captured in short bursts, the potential is there to be a consistent threat.
