4. Trade into the top 2

With the seventh overall pick they also have the ability to move up five spots and into the top two of this draft. It would probably cost more than turning pick 15 into a top ten spot, but it could be worth it.

A lot of talk leading up to the draft is that this is a two-player draft. Ben Simmons and Brandon Ingram have the major upside and the rest of the class is either a low-ceiling player or a player with upside and a very low floor.

Being a team with young pieces already in play, and being so close to a legitimate draft position, they will have to consider making a big move and getting into the top two to top of this talent.

A combination of picks, the seventh overall included, and a combination of Gallinari, Barton and Faried should be enough to take the second overall pick. It would kill a lot of the depth and veteran presence in Denver, but for Gallinari and Faried, it is putting them in a situation to utilize the back end of their careers.

For the Nuggets, they could be looking at a starting group of Mudiay, Harris, Brandon Ingram, Jokic, and Nurkic. A group of five with the average age of 20, and upside at every single position. It would be hard to hate on growing a team around that and on paper it seems like that would be a core that can be kept together while playing high quality basketball.
