10. North Carolina chops down Florida State

Florida State fans will never forget North Carolina kicker Nick Weiler mocking the Tomahawk Chop after the Tar Heels beat the Seminoles in an incredible back-and-forth game.

The No. 12 Seminoles entered the October 1 matchup looking to recover from the blowout at the hands of Louisville two weeks earlier. On the other side, North Carolina was on a four-game win streak following a season-opening loss to Georgia and looked like an ACC Coastal contender.

Mitch Trubisky and the Tar Heels dominated the action early on with a 21-0 lead midway through the second and carried a 28-14 advantage heading into the fourth quarter. A pair of Dalvin Cook touchdowns tied the game with just over five minutes to go, but North Carolina would strike back three minutes later to go back in front.

However, Weiler’s extra point was blocked, giving Florida State an opportunity. The Seminoles marched down the field in nine plays and took a 35-34 lead with 23 seconds remaining on Deondre Francois’ short run.

North Carolina wasn’t done yet and moved to the Seminoles 37 yard line with four seconds left. Weiler drilled the 54-yard game-winner and subsequently trolled the crowd at Doak Campbell with his own version of Florida State’s Tomahawk Chop.

While Florida State would still make the New Year’s Six and North Carolina fell short in the Coastal race, the game featured one of the wildest ending sequences in recent memory.
