Although the Nintendo Switch has plenty of games already announced or at least in development, here are five games we’d like to see on the new console.

After the Nintendo Switch’s presentation put plenty of games on display earlier this week, let’s just say that pre-ordering the system (and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild) has become quite difficult. During that same presentation, Nintendo mentioned that at least 80 games are currently in some form of development.

However, that doesn’t mean that we can’t write up a wishlist for what else we’d like to see on the system, right? After all, if you don’t have games, you won’t sell consoles, and Nintendo would very much like to sell consoles.

5. Pokémon

Since the Switch’s big selling point is that you can take it with you as you would your Nintendo 3DS, it seems fitting to put the handheld behemoth that is Pokémon onto the new console. Indeed, reports have surfaced that a version of Pokémon Sun and Moon are already in development for the console.

This is not a request for Pokémon Sun and Moon. It is a request for something a little different. What we’d really like to see is something in the vein of Pokémon Colosseum or its sequel, Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness. Both games told deeper stories and generally ditched catching them all for catching and curing Shadow Pokémon.

Alternatively, Nintendo could bring back the Pokémon Stadium series, perhaps linking with Sun and Moon. The Switch is supposed to be a party console if all the talk about “sharing the joy” is any indication. What better way to cement friendships than by crushing your friends with your ludicrously overpowered team of Pokémon? Truly, the only better thing is to destroy their dreams in Mario Kart, but we already know that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is coming.
