NBA Fanduel Top 5 Plays For February 7th

NBA Fanduel DFS Top 5 Plays Of The Day For February 7th, 2017
Welcome back to another day of NBA FanDuel action. Tonight there are only 3 games on the slate the night after we had a tremendous 11 games slate. Looking back at last night, my cash game lock Yogi Ferrell did the job and got 5x. It took him a while to get going but he was able to have a nice 2nd half and reach 28.9 FDP’s. I spent up for Karl-Anthony Towns and he was a little disappointing by only scoring 48.6 FDP’s. He scored 35 actual points but didn’t have the supporting stats that could have given him a huge night. I also opted to pay up for Anthony Davis and fade LeBron James, which didn’t really work out as well as I hoped. Davis wasn’t a disappointment, he scored 58.3 FDP’s, but James absolutely went off scoring 67.9 FDP’s in an overtime win against the Wizards.
On to the 3 games for tonight. The first game on the slate is the Brookly Nets heading to Charlotte to take on the Hornets who are a 10.5 point favorite with the total at 217. Thanks to the Nets, there will be a lot of fantasy options to look at in this one. The second game of the night has the Orlando Magic visiting the Houston Rockets. The Rockets are an 11 point favorite in this one with the total at 223. We all know who to target in this one right?
The final game of the night has the Dallas Mavericks as a 1 point favorite hosting the Portland Trailblazers with a total of 205. Due to the small slate, I will be playing a majority of my bankroll in GPP’s tonight and cut back on cash games. Let’s get after it and see who I’m paying up for and fading tonight.
NBA Fanduel – Top Player To Spend and Fade In GPP’s
Kemba Walker $8,900
Kemba is the 2nd highest priced player on the slate almost $4k below James Harden. He gets a dream match-up tonight against the Nets at home. Kemba is a much better player on his home court and tonight he is playing against the worst defense against the PG position this season. He hasn’t been scoring well lately and is not too far removed form an illness, but the Hornets are getting paced up in this one which will benefit Walker. He will likely be popular but on a small slate most of the players will have higher ownership percentage. Lillard is another nice option at PG and I will likely have exposure to both, but more Walker for me because of the match-up.
C.J. McCollum $8,200
I want some exposure to the Blazers and Mavericks tonight but I think McCollum won’t make my rosters. The Mavericks are one of the better teams at allowing points to SG’s and I think it has a lot to do with their pace of play. They play slow and as a result they give up less fantasy production. McCollum is the highest priced SG not named James Harden, and I think at this price he’s worth fading tonight. If I spend up on any Blazers it will likely be Damian Lillard. The lower tier for shooting guards has some nice options that have the upside much like McCollum, at a much lower price. Now let’s take a look at my cash game lock and GPP flier.
NBA Fanduel – Cash Game Lock and GPP Flier
Nicolas Batum $7,400
Sticking to the theme of attacking the Nets I’m rolling with Batum in my cash game lineup tonight. He has had a couple down games lately much like Walker, but the Nets seem to be the cure for everything. I like rostering Batum because of how well he fills up the stat sheet across all categories. He isn’t a premier scoring threat but does get a lot of rebounds and assists for a shooting guard, which obviously makes him attractive against a team as bad as the Nets. I think his floor is 30 in this one with 40+ upside.
Clint Capela $5,100
Capela is getting back into a nice rhythm with James Harden and has an outstanding match-up against the Magic tonight. He has gradually seen a minutes increase since his return from a leg injury and played 32 minutes in his last game. I think he reaches that number which should give him a 25 point floor. Harden and Capela play a nice pick and roll and I don’t think the Magic will have much success stopping it tonight. If this game happens to stay close Capela has a shot to score in the mid 30’s which will more than pay off his price. Now let’s see who tonight’s PayMaker is.

James Harden $12,700
As if it wasn’t obvious by now since I haven’t listed him yet, James Harden is going to be 100% owned by me tonight. On any other slate I would consider fading him because of his tremendous price. But tonight isn’t any other slate and on this small slate he is a must play for me because of his potential to score over 70 FDP’s.

The Magic are not the best match-up in the world but when it comes to Harden match-ups do not matter. He needs to be the first person in your lineups no matter what contest you are playing. I look for Harden to be the top overall fantasy scorer on the slate and it likely won’t be close.
On a small slate like this I like to stack games. I will start by putting Harden in my lineup then stack around him. If you are able to stack the highest scoring game of the night, you will likely have a nice shot at winning a GPP. Don’t be afraid to have some salary left over as you can build a nice lineup without using all of your cap tonight. You can also be contrarian tonight by fading the value chalk and taking a chance on a different value play in the same price range. If you want to win tonight you have to find a way to be unique. Good Luck everyone!
Best of luck in your NBA FanDuel contests tonight and stay tuned to Fantasy CPR for all the late breaking lineup news and roster updates
