Michael Jordan had some serious experience being named NBA MVP, so it’s cool to see him showing some love to Russell Westbrook after he won the award.

Russell Westbrook finally got his MVP honors at the NBA Awards on Monday night, and it didn’t taken long for Brodie to get recognized by one of the GOATs: Michael Jordan.

Westbrook had a historic season for the Oklahoma City Thunder, as he averaged a triple-double throughout the entire year, which is something Jordan can never say he was able to do. While Jordan will probably take the rings he’s earned over Westbrook’s achievements, it’s still memorable.

To celebrate, Jordan sent along a personalized package to Westbrook for his win, including some Thunder-colored Jordan’s for Westbrook to rock when he puts on some of his crazy outfits. The package came with a cool, personal note for Westbrook, congratulating him on the MVP and reminding him of where Jordan was at when he was first named MVP in his career.

The caption on the note reads “I got my first MVP award before my first ring, too… Keep going!” As crazy as it is to think about, given the success in his career, Jordan never won a ring until he was 28 years old. While Westbrook just won the MVP award at 28 years old, it still leaves some potential in his career to join a contender and add a ring to his resume before things are all said and done.

The note also comes as one of many congratulations for Westbrook on the win, as former Thunder teammate and current Golden State Warriors rival Kevin Durant posted his own props for Westbrook’s honors.

While it’s obviously a tiny detail in the grand scheme of things, it’s safe to say if this is the type of package Westbrook will get every time he wins MVP, he may be a bit more motivated to go off next season to add to his crazy wardrobe.
