3. Alex Len

Alex Len was seen as a project when he was taken fifth overall in the 2013 Draft, and that has been true through his rookie contract. He was brought along slowly and then mostly sat behind Tyson Chandler during the last two seasons. Len does have 127 starts to his name at this point; he is seasoned to a degree. Still just 24, he has shown that he can become a starter at the NBA level if his development continues. Another team could potentially bear the fruit of the Suns labor of developing the young Ukrainian.

Len often collects too many fouls to play for extended minutes. He ranks first among all players who played over 1,500 minutes last season in fouls per minute, with 5.6 fouls per 36. But his other per 36 numbers suggest a solid NBA center: 14.1 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks last season. His post game has improved and could still become a weapon as well. Len will become a solid starter during his next contract.

The Bulls have a steady veteran in center in Robin Lopez. He is reliable as they come: Lopez plays good defense, sets good screens, moves the ball well, and shoots a good percentage. But in a rebuilding stage with Lopez under contract for two more seasons, Chicago should deal the 29-year-old. Len could become the new starter immediately or be worked in following an eventual trade if he was signed. With numerous young assets already under contract in Phoenix, they could allow one to walk in restricted free agency to Chicago.
