1 – There are weapons on the outside

Everyone by now knows how good Jarvis Landry is. He is one of the best wide receivers in the league. He can line up all over the field, make plays and has posted back-to-back 1,000-yard receiving seasons.

The Dolphins also have former Saints wide receiver and deep threat Kenny Stills. Stills is set to stretch the field and open up the middle for the rest of the Dolphins’ offense.

The wild card of the group is the young DeVante Parker. The wideout has shown flashes in his first two seasons as a pro after being drafted 15th overall by the Dolphins. Injuries have kept his progress slower than some thought. The third year is typically when wide receivers break out and Miami was hoping Parker would follow suit.

Stills and Parker were behind Landry in targets and both had impressive seasons.  The young wide receiver trio was looking to make waves with Tannehill leading the charge.

The Dolphins also brought in former Broncos and Jaguars tight end Julius Thomas to take some more pressure off Tannehill and the deep game. If Thomas can return to his Denver form, the Dolphins are looking at a major weapon. Thomas struggled last season in Jacksonville but some of that may be attributed to the rocky quarterback play.

Tannehill had all the weapons to succeed and continue on his path toward becoming a franchise centerpiece in Miami. If he is out for any extended period of time, the team may be in big trouble.
