4. Tony Ferguson

One of many McGregor critics, Tony Ferguson walking Mayweather out to the ring on Aug. 26 could be a decent mind game on Mayweather’s part.

Realistically, Ferguson would serve as a reminder to what awaits McGregor after he fights Mayweather. McGregor has stated that he would like to continue to compete in boxing and MMA throughout the rest of his career.

Depending on how the fight ends, McGregor will likely return to the UFC to fight again by the year’s end. Since winning the UFC lightweight title at UFC 205, McGregor has yet to defend either one of his titles, which has upset several contenders including Ferguson.

Ferguson has called for McGregor to either be stripped of or relinquish his title so that the division may move along again, but after becoming a part of an elite group in UFC history to hold titles in two different divisions simultaneously, McGregor will clearly do no such thing.

Besides that, McGregor has had words for Ferguson in regards to some of his decisions surrounding his fight career so there is a slight interest in seeing what would happen if the two were to fight each other.

While I am almost certain that McGregor is not looking past Mayweather, something tells me that looking at your next possible opponent before the biggest fight of your career would be frustrating, to say the least.

If Mayweather were looking to annoy McGregor, having Ferguson be a part of his walkout entourage could do the trick.
