Fantasy football 2017, Week 2 rankings: Who to start and sit
Sit: DeMarco Murray
I’m both a little bit concerned for the Tennessee Titans, and very impressed by what the Jacksonville Jaguars were able to do against Houston on Sunday. I’d be a bit wary of the “exotic smashmouth” offense and how it’s translating to 2017.
The Titans made a lot of changes over the summer – adding Corey Davis, Taywan Taylor and Eric Decker – seemingly geared towards putting Marcus Mariota at the forefront. However, in focusing on their star young QB, have they forgotten about the running game that gave them so much success last year? Murray had 12 carries for 44 yards. Derrick Henry managed 25 yards on six totes. Meanwhile, Mariota had 41 attempts. 41! That’s tied for the third-most in his career, and not a situation the team wants to be in. They need to run the ball, and that’s going to be tough to do against a Jags D who came out flying.
Jacksonville had 10 sacks, three forced fumbles, an interception and limited Houston to 164 yards in the air and 93 on the ground. It’s going to be difficult for Tennessee to roll into EverBank Field and have their way with the Jags. This could be an offensive struggle.
