NBA Power Rankings: Blake Griffin trade shakes things up
By Daniel Lewis
The Knicks went 3-4 on their seven game road trip, dropping their games against the Warriors and the Nuggets while finishing the trip with a win against the Suns. The Knicks were without Kristaps Porzingis, who was held out due to left knee irritation, against the Warriors in their first game of the week. They had good ball movement, trying to overcome the absence of their franchise big by creating havoc to counter the Warriors defense, but just couldn’t get stops, especially in transition, where the Warriors had 25 points.
Porzingis came back for their game against the Nuggets, scoring 21 points, but their defense was lacking once again and they gave up 130 points. Trey Burke and Michael Beasley tried to lead a comeback, cutting the lead to seven points, but the Nuggets went on another run, before Porzingis fouled out and the Knicks were done. They were able to get an easy win over the Suns on Saturday, with a 107-85 victory with a consistent, physical performance.
