2018 NBA Mock Draft: Mohamed Bamba could be the Suns’ last building block
We knew it was going to be tough for Sexton and the Crimson Tide ripping through the SEC, especially this year with so much talent on those rosters. But the freshman point guard remains an exciting option for the Knicks.
He could be perfect as the next in line to drive fans into Madison Square Garden, with the explosive scoring potential to be the focal point of the offense at some point in his career. Sexton lead Alabama to a victory over Florida last week, and he continues to rise to the occasion in big matchups.
Sexton plays bigger than his size, finishing over bigger players and rebounding the ball extremely well. That bodes well for his defense, which remains a work in progress within Alabama’s strict zone. It’s hard to predict how he will look on that end as a professional.
Finally, the Knicks are unlikely to pick so low after losing Kristaps Porzingis for the season. Sexton may have a new landing place in next week’s mock draft.
