Jon Gruden says Colin Kaepernick probably gets job ‘soon’

Oakland Raiders head coach and former analyst Jon Gruden believes Colin Kaepernick will get a job in the NFL soon, despite evidence to the contrary.

This whole story is old, tired, played out, you name it. Colin Kaepernick isn’t getting another job in the NFL because the NFL doesn’t want him in its league, and will do anything to make sure of it. Despite Raiders coach Jon Gruden saying he believes that Kaepernick will be employed by some team soon, it’s not happening.

Why? Because Kaepernick knelt during the national anthem, and people can’t deal with it. They can deal player beating his girlfriend and throwing her onto furniture covered in guns. They can deal with a player assaulting his pregnant girlfriend, provided he produces. They can certainly deal with a player pleading guilty to obstruction to justice in a homicide investigation.

You know what else executive and owners are willing to deal with? A player who got loaded and killed a woman while driving drunk. Hell, here’s another example of a player killing someone while driving drunk, and then getting another job.

Kaepernick also never spent time in prison after being found guilty of unspeakable crimes against dogs, killing scores of them. Here’s a quote from Donna Reynolds, who is a co-founder of Bay Area Doglovers Responsible About Pitbulls:

"“Jumper cables were clipped onto the ears of underperforming dogs, then, just like with a car, the cables were connected to the terminals of car batteries before lifting and tossing the shamed dogs into the water.”She continued, “We don’t know how many suffered this premeditated murder, but the damage to the pool walls tells a story. It seems that while they were scrambling to escape, they scratched and clawed at the pool liner and bit at the dented aluminum sides like a hungry dog on a tin can.“I wear some pretty thick skin during our work with dogs, but I can’t shake my minds-eye image of a little black dog splashing frantically in bloody water … screaming in pain and terror … brown eyes saucer wide and tiny black white-toed feet clawing at anything, desperate to get a hold. This death did not come quickly. The rescuer in me keeps trying to think of a way to go back in time and somehow stop this torture and pull the little dog to safety. I think I’ll be looking for ways to pull that dog out for the rest of my life.”"

All of these people got another chance, and in many cases multiple chances, in the NFL. Kaepernick is never getting one, despite never committing a crime, despite giving more than a million dollars in charity over the past two years.

Kaepernick won’t get another chance because he decided to kneel in silence, showcasing his American right to peacefully demonstrate.

If he had only slaughtered dogs, or killed somebody while driving intoxicated instead of bringing awareness to racial injustice, maybe Gruden would be willing to move Connor Cook down the depth chart and bring in Kaepernick himself.

If Kaepernick had been a monster instead of an activist, he would already have a damn job as an NFL player.
