The Tennessee Titans selected Harold Landry in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft. Here’s all you need to know about Landry, including our grade.

Strengths

Was arguably the best pass rusher in football in 2016 with 22 TFLs, 16.5 sacks 1 INT and 4 PDs. Can dip and bend the edge. Chases hard down the line and down the field.  Burst off the line of scrimmage and can convert speed to power. Closes with burst and ferocity. An impact tackler at times. Smooth athlete in space and could be used more often than he is on twists and stunts.

Shows good ball awareness and gets his hands into passing lanes. Can impact the game in all phases. Plays with his eyes in the backfield and can find the ball. Has experience dropping in coverage. His speed can ruin plays all on its own. Tested as ultra-elite athlete.

Weaknesses

Not tall and arms didn’t measure as long as they look on tape. He wants to bend the edge, and he can, but he doesn’t have much else. Lacks a counter. Needs to add ~10 pounds of muscle to help him win hand fights in the NFL. Can sometimes be consumed by bigger blockers.

Will be ridden upfield because all he can do is try to win with speed. Gets in trouble when he plays too high. Struggles to redirect and because he plays so wide at times, he can be schemed to be taken out of the play.
