16. Milwaukee Brewers

Well, this could be a surprise, depending on who you’re talking to. But, if you’re talking to me, the Milwaukee Brewers staff has exceeded expectation this season

The rotations 4.21 combined ERA ranks 18th in the league, and its .242 BAA is right in the middle at 15. They’ve led a revamped Brewers team to the top of the NL Central standings.

While the team’s No. 1, Chase Anderson, owns a 4.42 ERA, the rest of the rotation has picked up the slack. That’s not saying much, though, as Zach Davies sports a 5.23 ERA in the No. 2 spot.

Jhoulys Chacin, the teams No. 3 starter, owns a 3.69. In nine of his 12 starts, he’s allowed three earned runs or less. He doesn’t give up many home runs, with just five allowed in 63.1 innings.

The most impressive of the bunch has been Junior Guerra, by far. He has pitched to a 2.65 ERA, 1.123 WHIP and a 0.8 HR/9 mark. He’s already 33 years old, but he’s pitched about as well as the team could have hoped for.

Like a lot of teams coming up, the Brewers don’t rely on the strikeout. Their 239 K’s is the fifth lowest total in the game.

Wade Miley is on the 60-Day disabled list, but it shouldn’t matter much. The Brewers bunch isn’t flashy or full of firepower, but they’ve sure gotten the job done.
