Welcome to the second installment of our new daily series, a MLB DFS Cheat Sheet for DraftKings.  Each article will include a Cheat Sheet followed by a corresponding slate summary to help assist players in constructing optimal lineups.

First off, a MLB DFS Cheat Sheet, when it comes to DFS, should never be used as the sole gauge when it comes to breaking down a slate. There is no substitute to extensive research and analysis collected from multiple platforms. However, a cheat sheet is primarily a great concise form of reference. It’s best used as an introductory guide in grasping an idea of your potential targets. Not to mention it’s very viable in constructing an initial build.

Our MLB Daily DFS Cheat Sheet will list our projected top player at each position at three different price points, which will be labeled as “Tiers”. Each player listed will be paired with his current price and stats from their past 7 games including their Draftkings FPPG (fantasy points per game) over that span as well. Now enjoy our MLB DFS Cheat Sheet for Draftkings Tuesday 7/24 Slate  *Note: All stats provided by MLB.com and Pro Baseball Reference

MLB DFS Cheat Sheet: Slate Summary

Today’s Tuesday slate comes loaded with 14 games. Once again weather is gonna be a factor in most of the northeast, so that is definitely worth tracking. Baltimore look’s like the riskiest, I predict that game gets rained out. Philadelphia and Cleveland have some slight risk, but both should play despite potential delays.

Now there’s three elements of today’s slate that shouldn’t be overlooked. One is it’s a Coors field slate, so while the hitters get a huge boost their prices are heavily inflated. Second, Homer “Trashbag” Bailey is back, and all Homer does is serve up homers. Last, Aaron Nola should be the only high priced pitcher under consideration today.

Aaron Nola in his last 4 home starts; 29.8, 31.1, 34, 30.6 FPPG on Draftings while only surrendering 4 total runs in those games. So while the slate does feature some top arms in Kenta Maeda, Gerrit Cole, James Paxton, and Jose Berrios, Nola is the only pitcher amongst them I’d find my way to work into all my lineups. If for some reason, Nola fade is your strategy there are some nice salary relieving options.

Both NY starters Masahiro Tanaka and Zack Wheeler are in good spots to have solid starts. Despite some struggles with the current Rays roster, Tanaka still owns a 28.6 K% against them and is showing some positive regression. Wheeler has an impressive 35.5 K % with a 32.9 Whiff % and 9.7 walk % over the current and very underwhelming Padres lineup.

As for hitting, I’m targeting against the two gas cans of the night. Previously mentioned Homer Bailey and Mike Minor. Stack St. Louis bats against Bailey and Oakland righties against Minor. Words of wisdom: Do not fade Matt Carpenter, the hottest hitter in the majors right now against Bailey.

Finally two bats I’m over the field on who are relatively cheap are Mike “Moose” Moustakas and Dexter Fowler. Even though LHH Moose only has 2 hits in 13 at bats against RHP Jordan Zimmerman, his .395 xwOBA and .506 xSLG % show a positive stat correction is on it’s way. LHH Fowler at 3,700 against RHH Bailey might be chalk, but it’s good chalk.  Despite the poor season, Fowlers .588 SLG avg against Bailey should suggest there’s a big possibility he goes yard tonight. Now go make those winning lineups!
