3. Army vs. Navy

When this game is played, everyone is proud to be an American. From the Super Hornets’ flyover to the Army paratroopers, this is an annual rivalry college football fans live for. When the clock hits zero, no matter what the score is, America wins. Army-Navy is college football in the purest way possible.

Fans of both teams desire for victory each year and so do the players. After all, they are truly playing for their fellow students. Afterward, they rejoin their classmates in preparation for military service, not for a shot in the NFL. For 364 days of the year, Army and Navy are on the same team. For three hours on a cold day in December, they represent every soldier and sailor who has ever worn a uniform and served this country.

The game itself has, and probably most importantly, been entertaining over the past few years. Overall five Heisman Trophy winners have played in the rivalry as wells dozens of Hall of Famers. Though Navy has dominated the record book over the past decade, the game remains a natural draw for fans across the country.

Last year’s game was a thriller in the city of brotherly love. In a snow storm, Army and Navy were deadlocked for most of the game. With just over five minutes to go, Army quarterback Ahmad Bradshaw scored on a sneak up the gut to give the Black Knights a one-point lead. Navy’s signal-caller Malcolm Perry responded, driving the team to the Army 31-yard line. However, kicker Bennett Moehring missed to the left and Army won 14-13, giving them back-to-back wins in the series.

With a great finish last year, who knows what excitement Army/Navy in 2018 will bring to fans?
