NFL quarterback rankings, Week 5: Mitchell Trubisky dominates

After looking poor for much of September, the Chicago Bears got an incredible performance out of Mitchell Trubisky against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

This week, and every Tuesday of the season, the rankings are based with a combination of current play and performance of an indicator of what is to come.

J.P. Losman Division

32. Josh Rosen (LW: NA)

Rosen made his first start in the NFL on Sunday and looked average, throwing for 180 yards in a 20-17 loss. Arizona doesn’t have a ton of talent for Rosen to work with, save David Johnson and Larry Fitzgerald. Rosen might improve steadily throughout 2018, but it’s going to be a tough ask with the supporting cast holding him down.

31. Josh Allen (LW: 29)

Allen regressed in Lambeau Field, mostly because he was running for his life the entire day. Six sacks are going to sink any quarterback, and for a raw rookie who played his college ball at Wyoming, it’s borderline criminal. Allen’s season shouldn’t be measured in wins, but positive steps taken.

30. C.J. Beathard (LW: 31)

Beathard damn near pulled off the upset against the Chargers, throwing for 298 yards in a 29-27 loss. The 49ers were thwarted by a pair of interceptions in the second half, neither or which were Beathard’s fault. It’s going to be a long year for San Francisco, but Beathard shows some signs.
