How to bet on Saturday’s early Top 25 games

The Citadel at No. 1 Alabama

Going to be a long day for The Citadel. Alabama is going run and throw all over them. This is essentially a scrimmage to prepare for Auburn and Georgia in the coming weeks. However, yikes! That is the biggest spread I have seen in college football in a long time. I have accepted the challenge to take it! Alabama outright and the over.

Bet: Alabama (-52) (Over 61.5)

No. 10 Ohio State at Maryland

Granted, this is an away game, which should be tougher for the Buckeyes. But, it won’t, they’ll win with ease. Take the points and the over, expect scoring to be in the 60’s.

Bet: Ohio St (-15) (Over 58)

Middle Tennessee at No. 17 Kentucky

Weird game to bet on considering the state that Kentucky is on a two-game losing streak. Two teams from Tennessee have given Kentucky a run for their money, Vanderbilt did and lost by seven in a close defensive battle and a blowout to the Vols. Well, here’s more kryptonite for them, Middle Tennessee. Another team from Tennessee, they may win, but closer than what the spread says or upset by Middle Tennessee, in a low-scoring game which is normal for Kentucky.

Bet: Middle Tenn (+16) (Under 45)

Idaho at No. 13 Florida

“A win is a win” couldn’t be truer for Florida after barely squeaking by South Carolina last week. But they did show up rushing the ball nonetheless with Jordan Scarlett and Lamical Perine. Good to see the Gators putting up points again after disappearing the previous two games. They put up points against the Vandals with the rushing attack again in an easy win.

Bet: Florida (-40) (Over 60)

Arkansas at No. 21 Mississippi State

Nick Fitzgerald not showing up for the big games for the third time this season, has hurt the Bulldogs. Shutting down Fitzgerald is the key, but he goes off in non-big games. So, expect him to run and throw for a ton of yards. Both teams will put up points here, so the over is the best bet. 21 points is too much for the Bulldogs to cover against the Razorbacks.

Bet: Arkansas (+21) (Over 46)

No. 14 Penn State at Rutgers

Trace McSorley and Miles Sanders take over the game as the Scarlet Knights have zero chance beating the Nittany Lions. Take Penn State and the over.

Bet: Penn St (-28) (Over 50)

No. 22 Northwestern at Minnesota

Congrats to the Wildcats on winning the Big Ten West after beating Iowa last week. With their fate sealed, I wonder if there is an emotional letdown and the Gophers could sneak up on them. Look for this to be a low-scoring game that serves as a bit of a wake-up call for Northwestern.

Bet: Minnesota (+2.5) (Under 50)
