2019 NFL mock draft: Quarterbacks go early after trades
By Brad Weiss
The Seattle Seahawks made it back to the playoffs in 2018, after many experts figured it would be a season where they miss out on the postseason. In the offseason, the Seahawks saw a lot of change within their organization, in terms of players, and coaches, so their playoff run was a bit of a surprise.
While the Seahawks no longer have the Legion of Boom defense, their defense certainly stepped up to the challenge in 2018. Throughout the season, the defense became one of the more punishing units in the NFL, and there are a lot of good things to look forward to in terms of this roster moving forward.
One area where the Seahawks could target with their first round pick in 2019 is up front along the defensive line, where there is a ton of solid talent available within in this draft class. Christian Wilkins from Clemson has played a big role in the team winning two national titles with him on the defensive line, and is going to be a fantastic pro.
Seattle has their franchise quarterback in Russell Wilson, who takes up so much space when it comes to the salary cap. They need to bring in young players that are not too expensive, but can become dominant along their defense, and a guy like Wilkins has everything you look for in a run stopper at the NFL level.
