Players costing $6,250 or under

Dwight Powell (vs MEM – $6,000): Needs 28.9 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 44 fantasy points against Minnesota. Powell can be a bit all over the place but he has a high ceiling and this is a good matchup for him with the Grizzlies having no frontcourt players. And someone has to get numbers for the Mavericks frontcourt. Powell has been over 32 fantasy points in his last two games against the Grizzlies (one of those games was last season). Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling.

Jahlil Okafor (at PHO – $4,300): Needs 20.7 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 19.25 fantasy points against Charlotte. Okafor hasn’t been as great as he was at one point this season but there is some good news. The salary is good, he’s starting, and the minutes are typically there. The better news is that he gets to go up against the Suns. There’s a lot of uncertainty with the value centers in my eyes but I like the circumstances for Okafor in this one. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a good ceiling.

Guillermo Hernangomez (vs TOR – $4,300): Needs 20.7 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 12.25 fantasy points against New Orleans. Hernangomez was down against the Pelicans but with the frontcourt situation right now for the Hornets, someone still has to get numbers. I don’t love Hernangomez but the minutes are sort of there and the Raptors don’t have much of anything to play for. Diagnosis: Fairly reliable with a good ceiling.
