Liverpool

On the surface, a reunion with Liverpool seems a bit ridiculous, including the fact that he pushed himself out of the Kop in order to move to Camp Nou. But there appears to be no bad blood between club and player, and there are already wild rumors of a potential transfer deal involving Liverpool.

Liverpool have arguably been better off without Coutinho, as their attacking trio of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, and Roberto Firmino can lay claim to being the best in the world. Their industrious midfield is just as impressive, with Georginio Wijnaldum and Naby Keita performing attacking midfield duties admirably.

Although Liverpool are the reigning Champions League winners and were within a Vincent Kompany wonder-strike of capturing the Premier League title over the seemingly impenetrable Manchester City, the competition may be catching up. Beyond that, “nearly”  winning the Premier League isn’t quite in Liverpool’s interest; Jurgen Klopp wants to finally conquer Pep Guardiola domestically.

In order to do that, Liverpool may need one more spark. Coutinho is capable of producing moments of magic with his quick feet and lethal shooting, and there’s a good chance he wouldn’t disrupt Liverpool’s counter-attacking style.

It’d be a risky move for sure, given the price Barcelona are looking for and the fact that a rumored loan deal is unlikely. In fact, it’d be best for Liverpool to not give into Barcelona’s seemingly desperate attempts to unload Coutinho at a high price.

But there’s still a “chance” it happens, and Liverpool are one of the few teams linked to Coutinho at this stage of the summer.
