The first Champions League slate has finally arrived, so buckle up because the soccer calendar is about to get packed full of games.  There are many less familiar teams in the competition, but luckily for you I have a full slate analysis in my UCL DFS Breakdown ahead.

Last year’s surprise semifinalists, Ajax, is the slate’s largest favorite (-1.0) at home against Lille with Salzburg (-1.0) following closely behind also at home against Genk.  Chelsea are coming into this game playing pretty well and find themselves -0.5 at home against Valencia.  Genk at Salzburg has the highest goal total (3.0) of these games with the other two at 2.5.

The other three games on the slate feature spreads of 0.0.  However, all three road teams are slightly favored on the money line.  Liverpool will travel to Italy to face Napoli; Borussia Dortmund hosts Barcelona in a battle of giants; and Leipzig faces Benfica on the road.  All of the over/unders are either 2.5 or 3.0, which likely means Vegas was being conservative when they set them being that it’s the first round of matchups.

I’m excited to share some UCL knowledge with you guys so let’s get going.
