3. Cleveland Browns

It feels like the Browns are frequent visitors to this list, and a lot of these wounds have been self-inflicted. After winning the offseason, sky-high expectations have weighed heavily on the Browns, who have played extremely inconsistent football so far.

The last time the Browns were on our must-win slideshow, they pulled out a huge effort to stun the Ravens in Baltimore and claim first place in the AFC North. That win looked like it would inspire a run to the top of the division, but Cleveland went from Dr. Jekyll to Mr. Hyde in San Francisco on Monday night.

The 49ers pushed the Browns all over the field in a 31-3 rout, running the ball 40 times for an obscene 275 yards in the contest. Baker Mayfield also struggled mightily, completing just eight of his 22 passes for 100 yards with two interceptions and he also lost a fumble for good measure.

The Browns are headed home with their tails between their legs for their second straight game against an NFC West power, this time the Seattle Seahawks. The Seahawks piled up the points against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 5, with Russell Wilson tossing four touchdown passes as Seattle snuck out a one point victory.

The Browns fell behind the Ravens again with this loss, and with Baltimore expected to pummel Cincinnati on Sunday Cleveland needs a win to keep pace. A loss to Seattle could also set the Dawg Pound into a panic, which is exactly what the Browns don’t need as they try to justify the massive hype they received back in August.
