DraftKings NBA picks February 4: Stars on parade
By Mike Marteny
DraftKings NBA Shooting Guards:
Best Bets:
James Harden ($12,000): Harden without Westbrook is a hard thing to pass up, and it’s likely to happen twice this week. This is going to be the better matchup though. Charlotte has trouble defending the wings. Harden has 148 DraftKings points over the last two games. It’s safe to say that the slump is over. It’s a really tough decision between Harden and Lillard tonight. I’m not comfortable enough with the value to try running both in one lineup.
Honorable Mention:
Terry Rozier ($6,400): Rozier doesn’t have the advantage of the top guard missing. His advantage is that the top guard doesn’t really play defense. Houston has allowed the most fantasy points to shooting guards this year. It’s no fluke. Both Rozier and Graham have nice upside tonight.
Eric Gordon ($5,300): If both Rivers and Westbrook are out, I would expect Gordon to start alongside Harden. Harden will run the offense through him, but Gordon is a good shooter that gets open. If he starts, he’ll see plenty of looks and should blow away value at this price.
Dark Horses:
Josh Hart ($4,700): Hart continues to play a lot of meaningful minutes even with the Pelicans mostly at full strength. They are scaling back with some players. Maybe it’s an indication that they are actively trying to move guys like Holiday. Maybe they are just preserving him for a run at the eight seed. Whatever the case, Hart is seeing plenty of minutes and providing 5x value. Expecting more than that against the Bucks is somewhere beyond optimistic though.
Patty Mills ($4,000): Mills has been very good at putting up good point totals in limited minutes. He’s not as consistent as DiVincenzo, but the upside is much higher. The Spurs need Mills’ shooting off the bench. He can light up the scoreboard in a hurry and is a good passer. That gives him a higher floor than most in this range.
