NBA DFS: Studs, scrubs, and duds for February 24
Top star players, best value picks, and guys you should stay away from on February 24 in NBA DFS on DraftKings and FanDuel.
Welcome to Studs, Scrubs, and Duds; FanSided’s NBA DFS lineup helper.
Here’s what’s on the slate for tonight:
7 p.m. ET: Miami at Cleveland, Atlanta at Philadelphia, Milwaukee at Washington
7:30 p.m. ET: Orlando at Brooklyn
8 p.m. ET: New York at Houston
8:30 p.m. ET: Minnesota at Dallas
9 p.m. ET: Phoenix at Utah
10:30 p.m. ET: Memphis at LA Clippers
How this works:
Studs: Top high salary picks that you can build your lineup around.
Scrubs: Value players looking for a big night or consistent options to help fill out your lineup.
Duds: Players to avoid given their high salary and/or poor matchup.
Five players are picked on each slide, positions are not applicable, and both DraftKings and FanDuel salaries are listed.
Studs
Russell Westbrook (vs NY – $10,200 on DK; $10,400 on FD): Harden looks like himself against but Westbrook is offering similar value at a lower price. Both of them will probably be in for a big game once again but I really like Westbrook to collect rebounds in this one. It feels like a triple double game for Westbrook.
Joel Embiid (vs ATL – $9,500 on DK; $10,000 on FD): No Simmons and possibly no Harris means a lot of Embiid. Against some matchups that would be worrying but not against the Hawks. They don’t really have an answer for him on the inside with Capela out. Look for Embiid to be very aggressive in this game.
Luka Doncic (vs MIN – $10,500 on DK; $9,800 on FD): Luka should be back in the lineup and it’s a nice one for him as the Timberwolves offer little to no resistance. He’ll flirt with a triple double in this game. Don’t be afraid to take Porzingis if you’re looking to save money as he should be an easy double double.
Trae Young (at PHI – $10,600 on DK; $9,600 on FD): No Simmons and a Sixers team that is somewhat of a mess right now is great for Trae. He’s always a triple double threat and he should find his scoring a bit easier given the injuries to the Sixers. Collins isn’t a bad option either with the Sixers injuries.
Khris Middleton (at WAS – $8,300 on DK; $7,200 on FD): Given the opponent, Giannis won’t have to be huge so take the guys around him. Middleton has been a consistent option for the majority of the season and has a high ceiling. He’s guaranteed value with a good ceiling given the matchup.
