Fantasy Football: Breaking down the NFC North and who you should trust in 2020
By Bill Pivetz
QB: Aaron Rodgers
RBs: Aaron Jones, Jamaal Williams
WRs: Davante Adams, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Devin Funchess
TEs: Marcedes Lewis
Like the Lions, the Packers kept their offense mostly the same. While they lost Geronimo Allison, they added Funchess. The offense has a good balance of rushing and passing with the weapons on the field.
We all know what to expect from Rodgers. He threw for 4,002 yards with 26 touchdowns and four interceptions last season. Rodgers is not the same quarterback as years ago, throwing for 35-plus touchdowns, but the alternative is not that bad.
We saw a little of what Jones can do in 2018, rushing for 728 yards and 8 touchdowns over 12 games. But it was last season that finally saw the big-play potential of Jones. He rushed 236 times for 1,084 yards and 16 touchdowns. I don’t expect that many touchdowns but 1,050 yards and 12 touchdowns is good for the second-round pick.
Williams will still get some touches; he had 107 carries last season. But as the coaches start to trust Jones more, Williams’ role will decrease. I’d stay away from him in most league formats.
Adams will get his 80 targets and 1,000 yards. However, Rodgers likes to spread the ball around that he won’t have as many touchdowns as other top wide receivers. Ten different Packers caught a touchdown last season.
With Allison gone, I think MVS gets a boost in production. He could reach 600 yards on 50 catches this season.
