2. Philadelphia Eagles

Carson Wentz: 2019- 4,039 yards, 28 Total TD, 7 INT.

Here is where the book for debate really cracks open. Carson Wentz of the Eagles comes in at ranking two.

Yes, Wentz does have a Super Bowl and looked like he was going to win the MVP award in 2017 before he suffered his injury.  However, since then, he has not been able to truly find that form again.

You can justifiably argue that Wentz returned from his injury a bit too soon in 2018. Also, he was working with a decimated roster last year, especially at the receiver position.

But, right now, Wentz is just behind Dak Prescott in the NFC East quarterback power rankings.

2019 was a nice rebound year for Wentz. He finally looked healthy and strong, and he made do with a shaky group of receivers.

The former second-overall pick threw for a career-high in passing yards (4,039) with the second-most passing scores (27) of his career and had four game-winning drives.

Wentz and his Eagles fought through adversity to overtake Prescott and the Cowboys for the division title last season. However, in his first career start in the playoffs, he left injured.

You cannot knock a guy for getting hurt, that is unfair. But this is where Prescott’s value is a little bit higher. Wentz has battled through many injuries and he has missed time. Eight games in fact.

Of course, with a monster 2020 in which he is healthy, Wentz can overtake Prescott and prove why he was an MVP candidate in 2017.
